ActRaiser, released in Japan as Actraiser (アクトレイザー Akutoreizā), is a 1990 Super Nintendo Entertainment System action and city-building simulation game developed by Quintet and published by Enix (now Square Enix) that combines traditional side-scrolling platforming with urban planning god game sections. A sequel, ActRaiser 2, was released for the Super Nintendo in 1993. In 2007, ActRaiser became available on the Wii's Virtual Console download service in Europe, North America, and Japan. A version of the game was also released for European mobile phones in 2004.

The Completionist[]
Jirard reviewed ActRaiser for the fifty-eighth episode of The Completionist.
Both Jirard and Greg are a bit confused by the duality of the gameplay, incorporating platforming elements and simulator element. Jirard has a rant about the sound the text makes during the game. He does appreciate the other music, but considers it repetitive.
Jirard praises the hack and slash portion of the game, but admits the simulation part wouldn't appeal to everyone. Personally he enjoys this portion as well, but it's hit and miss. As a whole, he finds the game to fun and challenging.
In the ending stinger, Jirard receives a package from "Patrick H" that contains Sneak King, foreshadowing the next episode.
