The Completionist[]

Jirard reviewed the game for the forty-fourth episode of The Completionist. It is also done for the third episode of King of the Web Month, and as the special Halloween 2012 episode. He dresses up as Jeremy from Pure Pwnage for Halloween.

In the opening skit, Jirard gets attacked by an Angry Bird in his hallway, then leaves to get a beer before a giant stuffed bear attacks him. After this, he thinks it's time to play Dead Space. Greg attacks him because he felt "it was necessary." Jirard threatens to kill Greg, but the quit screen prevents this from happening.

Jirard notes how the game succeeds at having a cinematic presentation, and finds the sound dynamic and atmospheric. The presentation was what made him want to get a PlayStation 3 originally. It still sucks him in to this day. Though he compares the game to Doom and Resident Evil 4, he finds that the game still offers a unique experience, due to perfecting the horror element, and being able to shoot while walking. He also loves the force system that allows Isaac Clarke to pick up items to throw them, and the space mechanics. He also finds the enemies and bosses to be difficult and fun to fight.

While Jirard doesn't find the harder game modes to be too bad, he finds the trophies/achievements to be harder to unlock. Though he regrets buying the DLC, aside from the Scorpion pack, which he finds makes the game easier.

The video ends with annotations that lead to videos where the viewer can choose to learn Jirard's next review (Infamous) or listen to an unrelated story about a Transformer pog Jirard bought. (The second video still reveals that next week's review is Infamous, however.)

Trivia[]

  • Jirard provides information about the backstory of Isaac Clarke's name and a subtle hint about a plot twist. This makes Jirard believe that Greg has actually done some research for once, but Greg denies this.
