The Completionist Edit

Jirard reviewed the final game in the Five Nights of Freddy's trilogy for the 124th episode of The Completionist. MatPat from Game Theory stars as a guest reviewer.

Mat is baffled by the fact that the game only has one animatronic to look after in the third game, but is quickly put in his place when that one animatronic does a jumpscare. Jirard notes how the subtlety of the game is a welcome change from the last one. Though Mat feels the jumpscares are more tame due to the way Springtrap enters the room. Though the hallucinations fix that up for Jirard. Though as a whole, Mat finds that the horror atmosphere is still very much there in this installment.

Jirard compliments how the game favors strategy more than the previous game, and the camera system is more necessary. Mat finds that Nightmare Mode is a nice challenge, even though it's not as hard as 20-20-20-20 Mode from the other games. When discussing the ending, Jirard notes how the method to get the good ending is incredibly convoluted, but finds it worth it for the extra menu. The game is short enough for him to have enough incentive to make the effort. As a whole, he finds the game easier than the others, and finds it to be different from the others in a good way.
