Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time is a role-playing game developed by AlphaDream and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS in 2005. It is the second installment in the Mario & Luigi series, and is the sequel to Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga for the Game Boy Advance. The game was followed by Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, released in 2009. The game was later re-released for Wii U as a Virtual Console title in 2015, available for purchase from Nintendo eShop. The game follows Mario & Luigi teaming up with their infant counterparts, Baby Mario & Baby Luigi, in hopes of retrieving Princess Peach, who has been abducted by an alien race, known as the Shroobs. The game implements RPG mechanics using an emphasis on proper timing and accuracy, while also incorporating puzzle-based mechanics as well.
